So, why would you need an app to retrieve scientific studies from Google when there is a "Google Scholar"? The app gives far better, more trustworthy, and more intelligent results compared to Google and does things that Google does not do.

Google is by far the most powerful search engine and is a common platform professionals in biomedical and other fields use to retrieve information on a constant basis. Even though the text searching capability of Google outsmarts any search engine, it does not take into account the quality and importance of the studies returned. This app combines Googles power with:

1. Ability to retrieve better results by adding custom search phrases automatically depending on the nature of your search. The app can recognize over 25 study types based on this ability - including randomized, observational, meta-analysis of RCTs, consensus guidelines, cost-benefit analysis studies, regional/national database studies and so on. JARVIS, our natural language AI, is much better at identifying the type of study (Advanced Sort).
2. Ability to intelligently search results based on many factors (Advanced Search) including
- Cases and controls
- Sample sizes
- Disease process
- Surgical or medical therapy
- Follow-up times
- Outcomes
3. Latest versions also summarize individual articles (left swipe on iOS). The latest version also summarizes the entire search results.
4. Translation of articles and summaries into 110 languages worldwide is also available.

You will need to "Run Jarvis" once you search. This is available from the top right of your results menu in iOS and JARVIS menu in Mac. You can then perform any of the functions listed above. Impact factors of journals and the ability to sort by them continue to be featured in the app, but we suggest using JARVIS.

The app also offers cloud storage of your data. The app is supposed to complement iPubmed (another innovation of Best Surgical Education available on mobile) to help you keep up to date in science and medicine. However, unlike iPubmed, this platform can serve non-biomedical professionals as well. iPubmed is more comprehensive while iSearch Science is more relevant.

The app, given its price, is unable to deliver full-text articles which require a journal subscription. However, there are scores of full-text articles available for free.

The auto-renewing In App Purchases cost $49.99 a year with one week of free trial. You can cancel this subscription from your Settings app anytime 1 day before auto-renewal.
